Building Skills In a Beginning Reader
As a parent, witnessing my daughter's struggle with dyslexia has ignited a deep passion within me for building early confident readers. Dyslexia, a learning difference that affects reading and language processing, presented my daughter with unique challenges on her journey to literacy. Through this experience, I have come to understand the importance of early intervention and support in fostering confidence and success in reading. Seeing my daughter navigate through her difficulties with resilience and determination has inspired me to advocate for early identification, intervention, and inclusive educational practices to empower all children, regardless of their learning differences, to become confident and proficient readers. My passion stems from a desire to ensure that every child has the opportunity to unlock the joy and power of reading, setting a strong foundation for lifelong learning and achievement. I have attached my research paper on evidence based practices of building beginning readers that have a learning disability.
